Practical know-how in the industry session
Friday, 21 March 2025, 9:30 - 10:30 am
Optimised outcomes during every phase of life – the transformative impact of mylife Loop on people with type 1 diabetes.
Technology is making it easier to manage type 1 diabetes in every phase of life. Young people in particular benefit from a hybrid closed-loop system. And during pregnancy, the challenges can be overcome with mylife CamAPS FX and automated insulin dosing. Prof. Pieter Gillard, Dr Carine de Beaufort and Prof. Helen Murphy will show you how.
Prof. Dr Pieter Gillard, UZ Leuven, Belgium
Simplifying Diabetes Management for All People with T1D
Prof. Gillard will start by introducing mylife Loop with mylife CamAPS FX and then use clinical evidence and patient cases to demonstrate the various ways in which it can be used. He will demonstrate how the system is accessible to all people with type 1 diabetes through simple onboarding.
Dr Carine de Beaufort, Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg, Luxembourg
Impact of Hybrid Closed Loop on the Quality of Life of Carers of Very Young Children with T1D
Prof. de Beaufort will explain the challenges of caring for very young children with type 1 diabetes. She will present clinical evidence to show how mylife Loop with mylife CamPAS FX overcomes these challenges. Case studies will be used to demonstrate how the system improves everyday family life.
Prof. Helen Murphy, University of East Anglia, Norwich, UK
Using mylife CamAPS FX for Advanced Adaptive Automated Insulin Dosing Before, During & After Type 1 Diabetes Pregnancy
Prof. Murphy will explain the specific challenges faced by women with type 1 diabetes during pregnancy and show how mylife CamAPS FX helps them during this critical time. She will also be presenting the latest results of the AiDAPT study six months after birth, which show how the system enables optimal blood sugar control during this important phase with the newborn child.
Speakers:

He works as adjunct head of clinic at the endocrinology department of the university hospitals in Leuven, were he takes care of over 1500 patients with type 1 diabetes.
He has a specific interest in innovative therapies (e.g. continuous glucose monitoring, hybrid-closed loops, adjunctive therapies, immunotherapies), post-transplant diabetes and pancreas/islet transplantation. He is involved in several clinical studies in type 1 and type 2 diabetes and conducts research on continuous glucose monitoring, hybrid-closed loop, diabetes nephropathy, islet transplantation and immunotherapy in patients with type 1 diabetes.
